Well, it depends on the carrier. If I consider DBA to be a low cost carrier I feel very comfortable to pay 38.92 Euro to them for an early morning flight from TXL to DUS as booked today. I easily waive the 150 miles LH offers to me as DBA gives me the latest Playboy for free and I am happy to use the LH lounge in TXL before my DBA flight. I feel very comfortable, too, to book AB from DUS to ZRH or to VIE as they offer several flights. But I would never put my feet in one of the Easyjet or Ryanair sardine tins...

On other routes LH is some kind of a LCC, too. Considering that LCC are only offering low cost if you book pretty much in advance, LH offers the same to me. For next week it is not problem to get day returns on my LHR to DUS route to 231 Euros each day of the week, if I book two weeks in advance it is easy to get into the 160 Euro range. BA offers similar fares even in Business Class.
