The problem with many of these travel size bottles is that the number is either not printed on the bottle or is actually formed in the plastic part bottle and is difficult to read. So the screeners are forced to open the bag to determine if the item conforms or not. Well here is the issue, from what he told me, is that the screeners are not to open the baggies. Therefore, they have been instructed that if they cannot determine the size of a bottle in the baggie, to reject the baggie as a whole.
Now what this means is that all bottles must be labeled. This labeling must be applied at the time of manufacturing of the bottle and not at a latter time. Further, from what I understand is that this label is only required as to the size of the bottle and not the contents of the bottle. From knowing many folks at MSP TSA and airport police, this is very consistent with what they have been told/instructed.
It gets insaner and insaner every day!!!
