Im an AA EXP at 1.3 MM miles ... many of those on OW partner airlines (BA more than any other) and I have never gotten any kind of upgrade.

Actually, let me take that back. Once on a BA flight my IFE was broken and there were no other seats, so the FA moved me up to the next cabin (the class between coach and biz ... cant remember what they call it at the moment). It had nothing to do with my status though.

The noticeable OW benefits for me have been lounge access and First Class check in.
