EQP is maximum of 500, or actual miles times the fare class multiplier (.5, 1.0, or 1.5). The 500 does not get multiplied.
To clarify this (because the addition of the word "maximum" can make it confusing), there is a 500 Q-mile/Q-point minimum on all AA-coded flights, irrespective of distance.
