No - you need to top up the phone with some money to keep the number alive. Provided you do it within 360, you should be fine. The other thing to check is that you showed your ID to the store - they started tightening up on folks who bought phones before the ID requirement was strict and they asked most of the prepaid phone owners to come back to a store to show ID.
