It sounds like the key is to ask the AAgent to "please eneter my QF number individually within each segment." My guess is they know the rest...
If just looking for the "clue" to give the AAgent, then you were correct initially. Ask the agent to delete your FF # from the record (if it's already there), ER it, and then reenter using the "segment select" method. If the agent is still confused, just give him/her the format above. But the right terminology you want to use is "segment select".
