Rudi mentioned in a United thread that there are benefits of being StarGold on two carriers. In my case, I am already 1K on United and might try to get Star Gold (Senator) on Lufthansa.

Why should I become Senator on LH? What extra treatment does it get me over UA Star Gold on LH operated flights? I was looking at Senator details on their website, and the only good benefit seemed to be a one-way intercontinental upgrade every 100K miles. (or two Europe upgrades). That doesn't seem like much considering the extra effort of managing a new FFP and having to worry about qualifying.

Anyone?
