I totally disagree that UA MP would be the better FFP if flying within Germany. My intra German flts. got me 625 miles with MP. LH M&M earns 2.500 for the very same flight. So this is four times the miles I got with MP (even in coach it is double the value)
how can i join the lawsuit? the majority of my flights are international -- but my flights within Germany and the rest of Europe are steadily increasing.

personally, feel like i'm defrauding my company when ever i fly LH business within Germany. 5 grapes, a half (looks more like a quarter) sandwich, the occasional little toy Audi, some chocolate, and my choice of Focus or Der Spiegel does not warrant the several hundred DM price increase. so i'll just take my never expiring (no i'm not a FTL or Senator) 500 miles per segment and earn LH miles with my credit card.

the problem with the 50,000 mileage penalty is that it de-motivates me to give them any business. can you imagine UA pulling the type of LH excuse on a hub customer in Denver, Chicago, S.F., Washington D.C..

This is what i would imagine the letter would have to look like:

"Dear Customer,

because you are centrally located near one of our hubs we have determined that it is significantly easier for you to make 1K than any of our non-proximity-hub customers -- to reach 1K status you will need to fly 150,000 miles with us next year.

Thank you for your understanding."

If this letter came out i think i would buy some Continental stock.
