You have to be aware that LH Senator Status has become very common (that means no free upgrades anywhere) as the Star Alliance proves to be a lot more popular than the One World Alliance - try to get LH HON status - which is a lot easier with LH than Premier Status with BA Exec. Club. Alao, if you are keen just on Star alliance Gold status as a german resident, clock your miles on Air Canada (their Executive Class anyway is far better than LH). Good luck.
