I have been trying to research but the language on AA is kind of confusing. My question is around Deep Discount fares and Elite qualification. Now, I know that for a Challenge, I need 10K EQ points to qualify, now to maintain this status (Platinum) do I have to fly 50K miles on any fare class (including Deep Discount) or do the Deep Discount only count 50% like in lets say Continental Airlines? I am hoping for an alternative to UA out of SFO since CO no longer meets my needs.
