AS allows you to check in on line using the e-ticket number. I was able to check in on over their website. I'm not sure if this somehow gets communicated over to the AA system but it might since AA.com won't let me change my seat.

I'll ask the AA folks when I connect to my AA flight if they can see what time I checked in.
Which e-ticket number? The record locator?
