We have ridden the Cardinal and the Lake Shore Limited and found the scenery better on the Cardinal. (The scenery on LSL is beautiful in the Hudson River Valley.) The suggestion to use both trains is a good idea using the eastbound Cardinal. We had Roomettes on both trains. I prefer the Viewliner Roomettes to the Superliner roomettes for a number of reasons. We have not had bedrooms on a Viewliner (only on Superliners) so I cannot comment on those.
