Try E-bay, I live in the LA area and have had great luck on E-Bay, have bought tickets to basketball playoff etc.

I agree with the car rental, just make sure you get on the 110 going south or you will get hopelessly lost. The exits are tricky even for people who leave here. Ask some of your fellow baseball fans for tips.

Once you get to the 110 and get out of downtown, you should be ok unless there is an accident or something. Have a great time!
