I recently flew on an F award ticket on DL from LHR-ATL-PHX. F was not available from ATL-PHX so I took coach and listed in case a seat opened. When I checked in at the gate in ATL I was told I was added to the gate list and would be called if F was available. I looked at the monitor in the seating area and I was number 3 of 9. I asked the gate agent, will it go by my Gold Medallion status or the fact that I have an F award? She said Gold Medallion. Was not cleared and sat in coach.
