Advice on taveling AA wheelchair bound

Hi All,

I'm planning a trip for my parents from ORD to LAX. Mom is wheelchair bound with a urinary catheter and bag. She has very limited use of her arms and virtually no use of her legs so she would need to wheeled as close to her seat as possible and then helped to stand up by my Dad and pivot to the side an sit in her seat. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried arranging travel like this for someone and any advice they might give. Also any American Airlines specific info would be much appreciated as well. (ideal plane types, best seats for handicap access, ect.)

I plan to get them both first class tickets (ORD to LAX are pretty much all 2 class of service) so it would be more like business class seating.

She also requires insulin, which i'm assuming won't be a problem as long as I notify the airline in advance.

TIA
