Let's stop right here. What happened? Where did the driver refuse to take you?

So, one time, I decided to take the subway (9 from TS to Grand Central, and also 4, 5, 6) on a Sunday night. It was about 1:30am and there were still quite a few people on the subway so I felt safe. This was in early September so I don't know if that made a difference.

So, is NYC subway safe after midnight?
If I were by myself, I would not take the subway late at night. But several people together? I see no problem with that except for the fact that subway service doesn't run as often after midnight so you might be waiting a while at the station.

My husband often has to take the subway very early in the morning (4am) to be at his office early and he has had no problem with the subway....except on weekends when the subways are crowded with vomitting B & T crowd who stayed until last call.
