Just leave it in your carry-on. They can't or won't bother to detect it. Put some other little 3 ounce or smaller items in a freedom baggie, and let them x-ray those to their heart's content. Worked for me, with _gel_ deodorant, clearly marked << 4 ounces >> this past weekend, at SDF and RDU.
