Someone posted in another thread yesterday about a screener confiscating a 4 oz bottle with only 2 oz of fluid (I think it was contact lens solution).

So, don't count on logic at the checkpoint. I think at least 90% of the screeners will use common sense or recognize the stupidity of the rule, but that still leaves a 1 in 10 chance of confiscation. (and since a significant number of FT'ers fly well over 40 segments a year, the odds are against you).

I lost a 1/4th full 0.5 oz tube of toothpaste at LGA two weeks ago, but that was before the freedom bag rule went into effect.
