No statements for me since the bonus was credited, and I've had hotel stays, car rentals, and even paid flights. Similar stories for my friends who earned the bonus.

As I noted previously, my friends who didn't earn the bonus are getting regular statements even though they're not posting transactions.

It's hard not to conclude that this is intentional on the part of LP. I'm supposing that they're hoping people will forget about their balances and/or the fact that miles expire after 36 months without activity.

I've had them confirm over the phone that my transactions have posted to keep my account fresh--but then again I've had LP confirm other facts over the phone only to later deny them in writing and actions. This makes me a little nervous about what's going on here.

How else can this be explained?
