I find a relatively painless way to eat natto is as nattomaki (natto sushi roll). What seems to turn most people off natto is its smell (which is what usually sends me out of the room) and its "webby" consistency. Wrap it up in sushi rice and nori (dried seaweed sheet), and you might find it actually tastes OK. If you don't want to make it yourself, head down to a sushiya (assuming you have one nearby) and order it.
