The last thing I want is to derail the thread but just as a point of reference nuclear plants are very well protected both inside and out. I worked at one a visited several between '82 and '98. From a nuclear safety standpoint I would have no problem building my house right next to one. From a terrorist standpoint almost anything else is an easier target.
Don't bank on that. Also, this doesn't even begin to touch the number of nuclear reactors that are housed, pretty much totally unprotected (or protected by horny morons, as ABC News demonstrated) at various Universities all across our great land. At the very least, they make great dirty bombs to spread a layer of radioactive contaminant on their neighboring college towns, at worse, someone could cause one to totally melt down.
