Thanks for the help, sadly I don’t have a S/S number for Canada or the U.S., but I will be in Canada for at least 3 months next year, visiting. But if it is easy to get a working visa than I could start a credit card there then. If the guarantee required isn’t too large.

It's mainly for the status miles I am collecting; I did consider the bmi club at one point. But as I fly one route it seemed sensible to use aeroplan.
