Of those two properties, I would prefer the Residence Inn Las Vegas Hughes Center over the CY Convention Center. The CY is pretty ordinary, although across the street from the Monorail if you want to take that to the strip. RI Hughes Center is next to some good restaurants, etc. but would have to walk or take taxi to the strip.
Right now I am at the Renaissance Las Vegas on Paradise Rd. and its my favorite Marriott in Las Vegas. Might check to see if they have any point availability.
