Why is this so important? Because, while historically nations can be destroyed by external forces, empires (and superpowers) crumble from within. These little chips knocked off the constitution become part of the death of 1,000 cuts.
I heard the tail end of a WTOP News Radio report on this on my home this evening - I wouldn't call what I heard wishy washy so much as not sure how to interpret it, e.g. is this stupid or a bad thing or why is this big news ... it was clear that they don't "get" what goes on at airports these days and why this might be important.
