I was in Cuzco during the Inti Rami (solstice) festival in June 1995. Absolutely one of the greatest three day periods of my life. In addition to the Inca activites it was the Catholic festival of Corpus Christi. Nothing like a quarter million of your closest friends partying in the streets of the central square.

BTW, a couple of friends I traveled with in '95 went directly to Iquitos/Explorama after Cuzco. They had a good time, but got bitten pretty bad. Bring lots of "bug juice".
