If the OP were doing what many here on FT considered 'heavy' travel .. perhaps a relationship with the AA Sales department could be arranged and some sort of contract fare basis could be established.
If A to B to A every other week is LAX-LHR-LAX in full fare Business class then possibly AA would be interested in this 'account'. If the ever other week were ORD-LGA-MIA-DFW-LAX-ORD (one day each city) then again AA might be interested.
If the every other week is ORD-IND-ORD .. then AA will probably not be interested.
It all depends on volume! Suggest the OP talk to someone at their company about contract fares or farm it out if they have a corporate Travel Department.
Going solo on 10 trips over 20 weeks may just require advance and effective planning.
Saving you 2 grand per year (total expenditure then might be $20,000) probably would not be something AA Sales would be interested in. They would be dealing with travel budgets in the multi-millions range. Now if you present AA Sales with a scheme like GSK does from RDU-LGW where they guarantee x P seats and x J seats on VERY FLIGHT plus x pounds of freight on flights based on direction, yes then AA would probably give you even more than 10% off!
Lets also look at your assumptions. 10 flights over a period of 20 weeks. You are making an assumption that each flight will cost you $2,000 (2,000 X 10 = 20,000 which for your 10% proposed discount will give you the 2,000 savings you mention).
I don't know of many flights that when planned and booked with future planning (7-21 days advance purchase and accepting the restrictions) will cost $2000 each. I mean discount US-NRT round trip can be currently purchased for $1200 range .. I just booked a US-LHR trip for under $600.
Hey RickYYZ .. why did you not suggest the OP asking for a Comp elite status and Comp AC membership at the same time?? Dude you are slipping on your perkys!
