If you wait to claim your bags, then re-check them, then re-clear security, there's a good chance neither you nor your bags will make the connection --especially with only 2 hours.

You're best bet is to interline your bags through and continue onto your Hawaiian segment without exiting the secure area of the airport. At worst, if your bags misconnect, they'll show up on the next flight ...and if you're not at the airport, they'll send them off to your hotel.
