Let's hope Mr. Greenberg is more than just "window dressing" and can do some good. The following comes from "THE KOREA TIMES" newspaper of January 14, 2000:

"KAL Names New Vice President"
Korean Air, the accident-ridden carrier, yesterday appointed a new vice president in
an effort to improve safety.

Harry David Greenberg, former vice president of Delta Airlines, will be in charge of
airline flights and safety of Korean Air. He will have a safety task force under his jurisdiction.

This marks the first time that the airline has named a foreigner among its executive members. He will work for Korean Air until the end of next year under a two-year contract.

A company spokesman said Greenberg, who served at Delta Airlines for 27 years before his retirement in 1996, played a key role in elevating the US carrier as an airline with one of the highest safety standards.

"The appointment of Greenberg is part of our reform efforts to create a safety-oriented culture in the company," the spokesman said.
