If I read the OP correctly, he/she was told they need to accrue EQM to preserve the miles in the account, but I always thought RDM were all that were needed. Is anyone aware of an EQM-only restriction for account preservation? Otherwise, the OP can just do what others have suggested and buy something off the UA Mall and get the RDM credit.
