I havent seen the FX07, but I own the FX7 model which I bought early last year - and am still using with no thoughts of buying another. Mainly because subsequent models have added things that are nice but weren't earthshattering:
1) shave off some millimetres off an already small camera
2) add wide screen capability (16:9)
3) extend battery life that was already decent
4) slightly wider angle at 28mm
Some people might want these but honestly the camera was pretty much close to perfect already. All I really would ever wish for was to continue improving image quality which would require them using a bigger image sensor inside. And they havent done that.
So on that basis I'd recomment the FX07 in a backhand way, its an update to an already very good model. If you buy it, unless you are a gadget freak, you have a very good chance of sitting here 20 months from now not really feeling any need to replace it. Panasonic is very good at what they do and unlike a lot of other camera companies they seem to have made a very conscious decision to make digital cameras that will last - and age well.
