I refused to walk through until my bags were inside and there were at least 4 people who had already walked through with their bags queuing up at the machine. So it was a WHILE until I stepped through. The guy manning the WTMD didn't like that apparently, and pulled me aside for a secondary.
I wasn't happy for what was clearly a retaliatory secondary and I wasn't about to have a happy face at that point. I was wearing a t-shirt, running shorts, and a pair of crocs with socks. No place to put anything, really, even if I wanted to.
The screener told me to smile. I replied, "Not for this." Of course I got the, "We're doing this for your safety." And I replied with, "Well, I don't feel safer, just harassed."
As I went to retrieve my luggage, a younger screener said to me, "Thanks for siding with the terrorists." I couldn't believe he had the nerve to say that, but I merely replied with, "And thank you for wasting our tax money."
And I was on my way. Thank goodness I'm not going back there anytime soon.
Thank him for doing for the terrorist what they can not do for themselves - the terrorist hate us for our freedom and he gets the assist for making us just a little less free.
