"Armed" simply means that the doors, if opened, would deploy the emergency slide if opened. Upon the closing of the cabin door prior to departure all doors are to be armed by FAs and just the reverse upon arrival at the gate. You can find many stories of where FAs did not disarm doors on arrival and the slide deploy.
