I donīt know, but I have the impression that Spain and Portugal in general are neglected by a lot of carriers. Connections between Spain and Asia for example are almost nonexistent. Understandably, the national carrier Iberia concentrates more on the South American sector, but getting to the east is not very convenient. Maybe that will change when Emirates is going to start serving Madrid.
