What I would do in your case.

1) Do a book-and-hold on UAL.bomb. Write down the confirmation code.
2) Immediately head down to the airport with your vouchers in hand the ticket at the ticket counter. Give the ticketing agent your confirmation code, and hand over your vouchers and credit card. Usually within minutes you've gotten your way... no questions asked.

This only works if you live within reasonable access to an airport with a UA counter. Good luck.
