TWO transactions? Sounds like two tickets.

It may be different in Europe / Asia, but anytime you don't show up for a flight, they cancel EVERYTHING after that point. So if you don't show up for either A-B or A-C, your return will be cancelled. Believe it's standard Contract of Carrige that airlines use and to which you agree by purchasing a ticket.

Now the second part, and that is that most airlines actually charge MORE for a one way ticket, which may defeat the purpose of this exercise. Have you tried to change the departure dates of your flight?

Good luck, and if you can clarify your post (or another reader can clarify it for me ) we may be able to help you more. I suspect you don't want to tip your hat by disclosing the carrier, but it would most likely be useful in assesing the situation.

Guess I should simplify.

I want to change the take off date to a day or two later, and it would be most convenient to substitute the first two legs for one leg.

I bought the first and last legs as return actually London to HK on a European (nonEU) carrier I'm frequent with. Conditions shown by the web-site say nothing about completing round trips or using the first leg. The ticket is non-refundable.

A few weeks later I decided I'd like a side trip to a holiday destination actually Bangkok for Hua Hin, so I bought a ticket on another carrier (based in the Arab Gulf States) through the same web site. There is a five hour lay over in Chek Lap Kok so I should be able to get my bags in time to check back in even if I have to do Immigration, though I'd try the transfer desk first.

So what I want to do is drop legs one and two and buy a single direct to Bangkok (perhaps as a cheaper return 555 - see sig.)

I guess what you are saying is I'd best speak to the website agent's folk - they show a telephone number for the UK.

Well if I buy tickets so early that they are very cheap I guess when things don't pan out it minimizes the loss or I could argue with my employers.

Many thanks for your insights. I will appreciate further comment, especially about the validity of conditions not displayed at purchase time.

Then of course there is the new carrier to HK, OASIS but I'd like to keep my points up too.
