I do think your 300 THB estimate for a taxi could be a bit optimistic if the traffic between the new airport and the city is anything like what people are saying it is. If you arrive at rush hour and it takes you three hours to reach the city, the meter will likely be considerably higher. But even at double that, I think I'd still opt for the taxi compared to the Benz. Supposedly we won't have to get beat up taxis anymore at the airport as they say they'll only allow new taxis there.

BTW, I checked the price of the THAI limousine, and they now charge 1,875 THB one-way from airport to city for an E-class Benz, but they say they have a 20% discount on now, so I presume that is the discounted price. Which means the company I found is basically the same price as the THAI limousine. I saw the 700THB price mentioned by another poster and thought that it sounded like a good deal, but evidently that price is a very old price.
