Gas stations have done it for years. It slacked off for a while, but I've noticed more "cash discounts" popping up around here of late.

For many services, I'd pay by cash to get a discount without a complaint -- heck, I'd welcome it.
Companies accept credit cards cause they bring in more business. And unlike with people who pay with a personal check, there is no risk or downside for the merchant with credit cards, as the funds are guaranteed.
