We will be in Dublin from Sep 27 to 30. There is a film festival going on so a lot of downtown hotels are booked or VERY expensive. I am wanting to pay not more than $150/night. The reports on trip advisor tell me that you spend sleepless nights if you are in the thick of pub activity. We want to experience the pubs without sleeping next to them. I am toying with staying at the Hilton Airport Hotel but the reports are unnerving. Bad neighbourhood, hassle to get into town, no late buses. Cab fare exhorbitant. Rates are $137/night and we are Gold so would include breakfast. Paramount and a few others have a great location and price but apparently are non-stop noisy. I would also want air con which seems to be an issue with some of the hotels. It is not supposed to be all that hot but we found hotels in Spain very warm and stuffy in late fall since whatever air con they had was turned off. Opening windows leaves you with car pollution and noise. So picky, right? Any help would be gratefully accepted.
