Bigguy - I stay at that renaissance quite a bit as well and have found several occassions where rooms were not available during events at the Convention Center. 9 times out of 10 I have been able to book a room a day or two prior. If I come across that situation, I book a room at the Mariott suites for backup and check the Ren just about every day. I was even able to get a room during MAGIC, and the hotel was showing sold out months before. Might be worth a try. Hope to see you in the C-lounge.
