I assume the answer is no but do you think there is anyway I can make this 40 minute connection? I realize if my flight is late at all I'm screwed, but it looks like otherwise I'll be forced to spend a night in HNL.

You shouldn't have a problem at all. I was on that flight last week and had a 60 min connection and had half an hour to spare. Hnl is a very easy airport to get around. Plus your in biz first so you will be one of the first off the plane.
