Well, decision time is coming close on this one (been waiting until the next trip to the U.S. as the CAD/USD price differential is high now). I just checked the Pacific Feather website again and noticed the hotel grade featherbed. This one's a baffle design (so it can't migrate around) and is filled with feathers only.

They make a branded down-topped version for Linens 'n Things which lists at $99.99 for a Queen but 20% discount codes (such as this one: 102911736129) are readily available. Can instore pickup to save on freight. I think it's a baffle-box design too but with a quilted layer of down.

I called Pacific Feather this morning to ask the difference between the two but they're weren't divulging any info.

To add to the confusion, Pacific Feather also makes some custom featherbeds for Marriot and Ritz Carlton. http://www.pacificpillows.com/rifebe.html

I have an old Macy's featherbed but it's rather hard now. Filled with chicken feathers, I bet.
