using e-checkin, I have only been asked for ID once.</font>
When using e.check-in at AMS, I find that my boarding card is invariably rejected by the scanner at the gate. This usually puzzles the agent, who starts tapping on a screen to check whether my seat assignment has been changed. I then have to point out that I have used self-service check-in, and that he wants to see my ID.
By the way, when registering at a Crown lounge you can show your ID to the lounge agent, who will note the fact in the system. This speeds up boarding.
