That is very interesting. I would have never thought that it would be allowed. I do know from the Hickam side, that surfers would walk along the Ewa side of the runway to get to a surfing spot but I believe that they are not allowed anymore. I wouldnt mind checking out this hike. I used to spend my lunch hours on the Hickam side of the main runway and watch the jets come and go. This too has been blocked off because of security measures.
