I would rate Madrid 10 and Barcelona 8-. This is my personal opinion and I am sure that others will disagree.

Besides bars/clubs that are crowded even during the weekdays in Madrid there are more to see in Madrid. OTOH you can easily visit Sitges from Barcelona.

Why wouldn't you spend a week in both cities? Best option IMHO.
