The BnB is just someone's apartment that is being rented out.
My sis stays in Spottiswoode Park and the location is a quiet residential area...a bit of a walk to the bus/MRT, but convenient at that price.

My comments on the bars you listed that I've been to:

Devil's Bar: Used to be Man Utd's Red Cafe...noisy young cheap crowd.
Cafe Iguana: same owner as Brewerkz. Great margaritas, and you can order beers from Brewerkz as well. 15% additional discount on happy hour prices if you pay with an Amex card and make a reservation in advance (same deal at Brewerkz). Mexican food is so-so, but after a little alcohol, you don't really care
Balaclava: Hangout for the Suntec yuppie crowd. Good eye candy
Wala Wala: What can I say...I like most of the Holland V bars
Ice Cold Beer: Good crowd. Good beer. Good music.
Zouk Wine Bar/Velvet: Used to be good but quality of the people seems to have gone down after the renovation.
Harry's Bar: Nice place to hang out at..jazz inside and the river outside. Big expat crowd builds up at happy hours.

Places I like:
Oosters
loof
Muddy Murphy's
Kazbar
Bar Stop at Devonshire Rd.
