I booked a DEL-DCA-TUL-DEL RT for $963 before taxes. I checked the Detail Fare Rules page and the code showing for Fare Basis was VLRISD. Now I always thought the first letter was the Fare Basis, meaning this was V class.

However, on the screen that showed bookng code, all flights are listed as O class! Now I know O class doesn't give miles trans-oceanic, so this is no good.

Has anyone encounred this? Does the first letter of the booking code really identify the fare basis? If in fact the wrong fare rules are showing, this could be bad for on line purchasing, since there is no other way to see the fare rules once you get past that point.
