Seat: BA is better for sleeping, CX better for sitting. I prefer the fully flat BA seat over the inclined CX seat any day.

Entertainment: CX much better. AVOD, more and newer movies.

Food: Tough call - depends on the day in question.

Service: CX seems to have more staff per passenger, but pretty much equal.

Lounges: CX lounges seem less crowded at all stations.

Fast track: Available only at LHR (BA) but not in Asia (CX).

My conclusion is that I stay with BA as I earn more miles (being a goldcard holder). Besides most of my flights are to the americas from Copenhagen, so taking CX would be a long detour.

One nice treat: CX upgraded my HKG-LHR segment from J to F, eventhough I have no status with them. CX F has caviar as an appetizer, but I managed to get it a both appetizer and main course - a nice treat.
I guess it's a matter of personal taste but for me CX are leaps and bounds ahead of BA in every area apart from perhaps the seat. I personally prefer the CX seat since it is not rock hard like the BA J seat, is considerably wider and with practice you can acheive a very good sleeping position.

I would travel with CX (even with indirect flights) over BA whenever CX flights are a realistic option.
