I know very well what the scheme was as it attracted spongers like you.
I have flown many times without any problem with finding a suitable time to SFO from AMS over the last 13 years, so your statement about not being able to find the right flights hold about as much water as the Gobi dessert.
I prefer to have a pompous arse than one that is usually made from lard.
Keep on sponging and I hereby invite you to meet sometime in the AMS and make that remark to my face.</font>
Steve Fenton - to possibly save hard working Modertator Ralf some work, I'll play the Devil's Advocate here and say I read
SJC2ISP's comment to mean he has NOW moved to West Coast USA (in a job not needing much flying)
FROM East Coast USA where KLM destinations are spotty - which they are, if you do not live in a few key cities.
Hardly grounds for a punch-up and name calling I'd politely suggest.
All airlines run unusual promotions at times. United right now is giving a colleague Gold (good on all Star Carriers) for ONE RT flight he is making today MEL to London.
If YOU took the same flight in reverse they'd give you Gold too. Good to end Feb 200FIVE. United flyers who have done 50,000 miles bums in seats are none too excited about it, but c'est la vie. The offer is open to all. TWO such flights and you are 1K and get a handful of Systemwide upgrades as well, good worldwide.
