I am looking to do exactly what you are suggesting later this week except Eurostar is coming out hideously expensive so BA is my only option (BD is also more expensive).

Personally I would always do Eurostar considering my proximity to Waterloo but with the high fares this week would be stupid not to take BA. If the fare is better with Eurostar you would be mad to go BA.
