BA or Eurostar to Brussels?

Thinking of a quick, cheap trip to Brussels in the coming months to see some friends; I do not need any tier points, and for such a short hop would most likely sit in the back for this one as I get Lounge Access anyway.

Am quite keen to check out the new BRU Lounge.

However, I also have Amex Plat, so I understand I get Access to the Eurostar Lounges at both ends regardless of what fare I book on that.

Though on a weekend morning in November I do not think security shenanigans will be a factor, I am loathe to have to check my toothpaste etc, principally because of having to wait ages at Gatwick on the return, so broadly favouring Eurostar at this stage.

Cheap Economy on BA is about £62 return, against £59 for Eurostar, timings are much the same if you take into account check-in time etc, and I live much closer to Waterloo than Gatwick.

Is it easy to get from Brussels Airport to the city centre? Anyone have any idea of costs. Is there a rail link or will I need a costly cab?

Likely staying at the Hotel Amigo. Any other tips?
